Trendabl’s Top Ten Things - Summer Music Festivals

With Coachella kicking off tomorrow, and our suitcases packed, we decided to break down our top ten packing essentials for what to wear (and bring) to a summer music festival.

1. Denim cut offs

2. Wrap bracelet

3. Crochet crop top

4. Mirrored shades

5. Flower power head piece

6. Cake pop nail art

7. Embellished booties

8. Cool cape

9. Felt hat

10. A boy toy (yes, you read that right!)

Girls look undeniably cool in itsy-bitsy cut-off denim. And, if you're going for a pair of distressed shorts, no one does it better than One Teaspoon.
Wraps are an easy way to jazz up an otherwise plain outfit. Throw on a few, and you will have yourself an #armparty.
Crop tops and crochet are synonymous with summer. A true must have staple in your closet from now until August.
Deflect the sun rays with this accessory while also looking super edgy.
Release your inner child with a flower crown! We discovered Cult Gaia at last years Coachella festival and have been in love ever since.
A good gel manicure is essential for a wild weekend. Designs are a plus!
Embellished booties are the perfect way to complete a festival ensemble while also making sure your feet stay clean and protected from the crowds!
Capes are another easy way to edge up a plain tee and jeans look. They are also a great transitional piece from day to night.
A felt hat will keep you protected from the scorching sun and add some flair to your threads.
Who wouldn't want a front row seat to the shows? Bring a tall boy toy (or find one there!) to prop you up on his shoulders. We promise you'll look as chic as Kate!

Trendabl Brand Spotlight: Wildfox

Ever since their “Young Guns” collection back in 2010, inspired by skeleton sweatshirts and quirky tees with sayings like “Let me eat cake” and “Yes please,” we at Trendabl have been Wildfox addicts. The ad campaign alone was enough to have us headed straight for the check out counter, picturing beautiful blonde babes wearing cut offs in convertibles with toy guns and money flying every which way to Sunday. What’s not to love? Their most recent collection “We’re The Kids In America” is equally as bad ass, inspired by our all time fave film Clueless with jumpers stating “Need ride to the mall” and models that actually are Cher and Dionne’s doppelgangers. Click through the images below to read more about the brand we are totally butt crazy for while we go break in our purple clogs.

Trendabl Brand Spotlight: Outerbridge Jewelry

Company name: OUTERBRIDGE Jewelry

Date founded: August 2012

Based out of: Los Feliz, CA

What is your most memorable moment as a brand?

My mum back in England seeing Jo Wood (Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stone’s ex wife and British socialite) wearing a custom ruby eyed 14k Gold Smiley Necklace I made for her while watching her interview on TV.

image

image

How would you describe the collection’s aesthetic?

Contemporary tongue and cheek fun with a classic edge.

image

Who would you most like to wear these pieces?

Even thought the line has very youthful undertones I think the message of the symbols I use a lot such as different emoticon expressions and smileys applies to all age groups, who doesn’t like a smiley face every once in a while? Celebrity wise, hands down - Rihanna, her style is completely in line with the attitude of the line. Fun and naughty yet with a hint of classic chic elements.

image

What’s the best part of designing the collection?

Seeing it come to life! From an idea at the stop light put onto paper, then a wax mold to an actual piece that can be worn. Nothing more fulfilling than seeing any idea no matter how small or big come alive and be tangible.

image

What trends are your team excited about for spring/summer?

Rose Gold! Rose Gold seems to be everywhere this season and obviously goes beautifully with bright colorful spring/summer pieces and apparel.

image

What most inspires Outerbridge Jewelry’s Trendabl posts?

The use of jewelry as not just an accessory but an ‘outfit’ itself. How you can wear something so plain and you add jewelry and it changes the whole dimension of an outfit.

Trendabl Brand Spotlight: Chan Luu

image

Company name: Chan Luu, Inc.

Date founded: 1996

Based out of: Los Angeles, CA

What is your most memorable moment as a brand?

The most memorable moment as a brand was when Actress Jennifer Aniston was photographed between George Clooney and her then-husband Brad Pitt wearing my hand-painted seashell necklace. In the fashion industry, certain celebrities can really put your name on the map. After she wore that necklace, the business really took off creating a huge momentum for the brand.

image

How would you describe the collection’s aesthetic?

Each piece that is designed for the collection is deeply personal, inspired by the various cultures that Chan and her team experiences in their travels. Chan’s eclectic mix of natural materials is a reflection of her creativity, while her emphasis on taking old world crafts and making them new gives each contemporary piece a connection to the past.

Who would you most like to wear these pieces?

Chan’s designs have been sought after by celebrities for many years, but Chan really designs for every women. The amazing thing about her designs is that a woman can take a piece of Chan Luu apparel, a few wrap bracelets and a couple of layered necklaces and make them completely unique. Chan’s designs are very versatile and allow women to express themselves however they like.

image

What’s the best part of designing the collection?

The best part about designing the collections every season is the fact that we get to incorporate a variety of cultures from around the world into every aspect of the collection. We love seeing the collection come to life and sharing it with the world.

image

What trends are your team excited about for spring/summer?

The trends that we are most excited about for Spring/Summer are dip-dyed/ombre apparel which is a trend that we have incorporated into our S/S 2013 RTW collection. Layering bracelets together to create “arm candy” has been a trend for a few seasons now, but we are excited to start incorporating bright neon colors into those looks. Our Spring/Summer jewelry collection incorporates bright neon, Swarovski pearls paired with natural leathers and nuggets to give a fresh and exciting look to the classic wrap bracelet style.
