Trendabl Preview: NYFW with Monique Lhuillier
Fashion week has officially begun (today marks the first day here in NYC) and we at Trendabl have the inside scoop on Monique Lhuillier’s Spring Summer 2014 collection! The inspiration behind her collection this season was all about shear elegance. The magnificent Monique created this feel through the use of bright, bold colors in clean and modern silhouettes with feminine details. Lots of lace and embroidery was used throughout the looks. Click through to see some sneak peek images of the collection. You can watch her show live stream on her recently revamped website on Saturday at 7pm EDT. Check back on the blog next week for a full fashion week recap!
Monique's inspiration for her SS14 collection was based on this image, which she described as having "shear elegance."
Here is the color palette for her SS14 collection: luxury laces in bright bold tones.
Intricate detailing can be found throughout each of the pieces in her latest collection.
The ombre effect is a staple in this collection - even in the bead work!
Tulle and gold embroidery add a sense of luxurious elegance to her SS14 story.

Resort 2014: Looks We Simply Love
The trends for resort 2014 have a big range— bold pastels, athletic cool, gold metallic, cropped sweaters, slip dresses, black & white florals, and disco. I wanted to show you looks that represented these trends but I kept getting distracted by things that didn’t quite fit that mold. So, I’m going to go straight up with you and show you looks that simply tickle our fancy.
So, whether you like to call it “cruise” or “resort” lets join forces in awe over this amazingness.
Alexander Wang Resort 2014 - This is so amazing even her nipples are excited.
Emilio Pucci Resort 2014 - THESE SHORTS are epic.
Versace Resort 2014 - Not sure what is more fierce, the model or the dress?
Chanel Resort 2014 - This is so adorable.
Oscar de la Renta Resort 2014 - Classic Oscar de la Renta feminine style :)
Monique Lhuiller Resort 2014 - From the colors to the cut, this gown is perfection.
Lanvin Resort 2014 - Which organ shall I sell for this dress?
Gucci Resort 2014 - This dress does metallic in all the right ways.
Givenchy Resort 2014 - Sexy beyond words. Loving this "Basic Instinct" Sharon Stone number.
Alexander Lewis Resort 2014 - This pattern is beautiful and I love the geometric look.
Winter white wasn’t just a trend in the fall collections this fashion week. Luckily, we managed to survive Nemo and even catch a few shows - snow blizzards and all. As they say, the show(s) must go on - and they certainly did. Here’s a look at some of our faves from the week. Next stop: London, Milan and Paris! Fingers crossed for some sun.
